Hate

I don’t understand hate.  I don’t understand how somebody can say, “I hate them,” after just hearing their name or seeing them somewhere, and I mean without ever having met them or really seen them portrayed as they really are.  I don’t get how you can look at another person and say that you would rather not have them exist than have their creed, gender, sexual orientation, race, religion, the list goes on and on, exist.  Today, I was watching some documentary on HBO about Rosie’s cruise.  It was all gay and lesbian couples.  It got me into that thinking kind of mood.  How can anyone say they hate them based on their orientation?  How can you look at another person and say that they’re not deserving of love, or marriage, or children, or whatever you want, based on that?  Is love not love in any form?   Is love not good?  What difference is there between you and whomever you hate?  Do they not have the same emotions as you?  What really makes them that different?  I just don’t understand.
